I'm with Him

We can receive a blessing when we are accompanied by the right person.
Places where we might otherwise be denied entrance, being with one who is admitted can get us in as well. As we approach we may simply have to say,"I'm with him."

Not far into Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth, with
reference to the Lord Jesus Christ we read. . .
"(8) who will SUSTAIN YOU TO THE END, GUILTLESS in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (9) God is faithful, by whom you were called into the FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD." (1 Corinthians 1:8-9 ESV)

Having come into FELLOWSHIP WITH JESUS, though there are others passages
that note the blessings of such fellowship, do we see the marvelous
blessings Paul noted here? There is strength provided to SUSTAIN US TO THE
END; whether that be the end of our life in this realm or until our Lord
returns. Also, with Him, we will be found "GUILTLESS." The Greek word here
is "anekletous" which means nothing laid to our charge (as in the result of
a public investigation). [source: W. E. Vine's Expository Dictionary of New
Testament Words] It is to be free from accusation. However, that blessing is
only enjoyed IN CHRIST.

In Paul's letter to the church at Rome he stated. . .
"(1) There is therefore NOW NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN
CHRIST JESUS." (Romans 8:1 ESV)

What a blessing! IN CHRIST our condemnation has been removed. Our sins
have been adequately dealt with by the power of His blood. Standing in
FELLOWSHIP WITH CHRIST we are FREE FROM CHARGE OR ACCUSATION, being viewed
IN HIM. And our God is faithful to what we have been promised IN CHRIST. May
our life reflect sincere appreciation for the blessing of entering into such
a sphere as the one IN FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM!

It has been a long time my dearest youths... how have you been?? EXAMS!!!!! you'd scream.. but i can assure you that if you prepared well, your results will definitely reflect your efforts.

The trip to Balingian was a wonderful one. You can invite those who have been there to share during the fellowship.

I will try to post pictures taken later. Until then, 2 things to remember:

1. Do your best in the exams. DO and not try.. very different wor.. DO YOUR BEST!!
2. Registration is coming in so you'd better hurry before seats run out.

I missed you guys a lot!!!! My study is almost over and I will join you all again. This song "Lay it down slow" reminds me of all the things we had, everything!!! Everytime i listen to it, i think of you all. sniff..

^{Hey youths! I have had this in my mind for quite sometime but I did not have time to really sit down and share with you all until now. Some of you may or may not know what had happened to me in the month December. From that incident, I have this urge to share this precious thought.
The last time I talked to my dad was, last year. The last time I saw him was 2 years ago. The last time I held his hand.. I could not recall.

Ceremonies, rituals, memorial services, they all seem so trivial now.

i-Youth is following Gan En Methodist Church for a one-day mission trip to a nearby village. Serving the community with full loyalty and relating to people without being selfish.. the i-Youth has decided to send 7 youths to take part in this trip.

a. We will meet at Gan Enn on Sunday, 1pm and depart at 1.15pm. We should be back to Miri before 5. the journey to Sg Burid Long house is about 45 minutes.

b. We need 2 4 wheel drive. I will be going. Including advisors (like you and Teck Chung) and me, can we target 10 persons? Can you find the 2 vehicles.

c. Things to prepare: Need to do the ministry in BM;
one person to share testimony;
lead in singing BM children song;
tell bible story;
do colouring competition and prepare presents;
the ministry is mainly for children;
I will do prayer.

e. This is an exposure trip for our youths. Hopefully, our youths will plan to go back more times next year.

Last night we bid farewell to our Leh Bing, the big guy in i-Youth who has brought so much laughter to the fellowship. He is going to KL to further his studies and we pray that the Lord will be with Him always…. well….. anyway it was rather a emotional night for a few of us..

How? You may ask..Psalm 1 tells us all too clearly..Let’s live our lives according to it.

But my dearly beloved, may i caution you to at least look up the word first before using it. IF the word is vulgar.....It not only taint your image but also give the hearers a very bad impression of a Christian. A BAD TESTIMONY!

Take for example this word that is so often on the mouth of youngsters, using it to mean "nonsense' and another to imply "very"

Since these 4 characters are frequent visitors to this youth blog, I would like to share a story abt them.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done

Where do you stand??

As Jesus' ministry began to unfold, His popularity continued to grow.
After having fed the five thousand with five barley loaves and two fish, the
multitude was ready to take Him by force and make Him king. (John 6:15)
Matthew recorded that Jesus sent the disciples away in the boat while He
remained and dismissed the crowd. (Matthew 14:22) Perhaps, they could have
easily gotten caught up in the excitement of the crowd. Though Jesus would
be King, it would not be in this way. Then as the crowds continued to
follow, Jesus tried to redirect their focus from physical things to the
spiritual. (John 6:22-65) Some of this teaching was difficult for many to
accept and therefore many turned away no longer walking with Him. (John
6:66)

For Jesus' closest disciples (the Twelve) to have witnessed such a
following and then see so many walk away, had potential to impact their own
view of what was to come. What were they to make of it all? Witnessing
rejection can really take away the excitement when so much momentum seemed
to have already been building.

We read. . .
"(66) After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer
walked with him. (67) So Jesus said to the Twelve, 'DO YOU WANT TO GO AWAY
AS WELL?'" (John 6:66-67 ESV)

In spite of others, where did they stand? Would they be discouraged
enough to wonder whether or not it was worth hanging in there with Jesus?
Where was the success in such a picture? Now, Jesus knew who would believe
and who would not, as well as who of the Twelve would betray Him. (John
6:64) But did they themselves know where they stood?

For us to consider where we stand is important as well. To verbalize it
helps strengthen the resolve in our own minds and solidify our stand. Though
all others leave, would we remain?

Peter's response would have not only helped establish deeper roots to
his resolve, but also encourage the others.
"(68) Simon Peter answered him, 'LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO? You have
the words of eternal life, (69) and WE HAVE BELIEVED, and HAVE COME TO KNOW,
that YOU ARE THE HOLY ONE OF GOD.'" (John 6:68-69 ESV)

For Peter there was NO OTHER OPTION! That is a great resolve for us to
share as well. Let us not even leave the door open a crack for ANY OTHER
OPTION. Having come to know that Jesus is "the Holy One of God" and
remembering it is only He Who has "the words of eternal life" should keep us
from turning away. May our following never end.

Remember... what is in the middle of "PRIDE" and what is in the middle of 'SIN"? that's right and when one get too focused on the I, then it is self-centered, so full of self. in Chinese it is 自大, and since one is so full of self, so self-centered, everything revolves around one. Thus it is 自大 with a dot "." In the eyes of God, it is 臭.

Are you humble?

(Psa 51:17) The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Subject: Better don't eat fish for now

Hundreds of fish were dying in Baram River

Then Borneo Resources Institute Malaysia (Brimas) is shocked with another wave of mysterious death of fish in Sarawak. Over the last few days, hundreds of fish were found dying in Baram River, particularly around the Kuala Baram area.

Brimas officers have conducted field visits and investigations in the area and were surprised to see several species of freshwater fish dying in the river. The fish species that were found dying are locally known as Ikan Baung, Ikan Burih, Ikan Tapah, Ikan Padi to mention a few.

Also found dying were various types of prawns. Through our observation, most of the fish seemed weak, tired and having difficulty in breathing. As a result, the fish surfaced for air but after sometime suffocated to death. Also, the fish appeared blind.

Our officers have conducted site examinations on some of the dead fishes, particularly checking their gills. Brimas found that the gills of the fishes were not clogged with mud or blocked by silt. The stomach or intestines of the dead fish did not contain mud but seemed watery.

Regarding the condition of the Baram River, Brimas officers noticed that the water was murky. According to some local villagers at the Kuala Baram area, they have not seen any difference in the water as over the past years, the river has always being brownish, muddy and polluted with silt due to logging, oil palm plantations and industrial development activities.

Brimas has collected some water samples from Baram River for further investigation and necessary action.

Brimas is concerned with the safety of villages and members of longhouse communities along the Baram River. These people are exposed to danger and environmental disaster as they entirely depend on Baram River for their daily livelihood.

Brimas has seen these people scooping up the floating fish as well as collecting the dying fishes in Kuala Baram. It is alarming to note that these fish were sold at the local markets around Miri here. Innocent members of public could have bought and consumed these fishes and prawns unaware of the possible health risks.

Brimas is appalled with this reoccurrence of the large-scale dying of fish in Sarawak rivers. It seems that major rivers throughout the state are affected by this mysterious phenomenon. This seems like a wave of destructive incidents affecting all of our rivers.

These series of mysterious death of fishes had occurred twice in the Bakun dam project area in Belaga, then in Balleh and last week it was at the Mukah River.

With this new incident at Kuala Baram, based on our site investigations and observations, Brimas has identified the possible source and culprits that cause these incidents. However, Brimas would rather not pinpoint the culprits now but allow the relevant authorities to carry their investigations independently.

Brimas urges the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) to conduct thorough investigations to find out the cause of the death of these fishes. Their reports must be made public as the nature of this mysterious phenomenon is of public interest and concern.

Brimas also supports the NREB in taking whatever action in enforcing the law against the culprits or responsible parties so that these incidents will not recur in the future.

Not only did he do it 1 to 10, he did it again from 10 back to 1. This is what he came up with.....
1 day I go 2 climb a 3 outside a house to peep. But the couple saw me, so I panic and 4 down. The man rushed out and wanted to 5 with me. I ran until I fell 6 and threw up. So I go into 7-eleven and grabbed some 8 to throw at him. Then I took a 9 and try to stab at him. 10 God he run away.

10 I put the 9 back and pay for the 8 and left 7-eleven. Next day I called my boss and told him I was 6. He said 5 , tomorrow also no need to come back 4 work. He also asked me to go climb a 3 and jump down! I don't understand. I am so nice 2 him but I don't know what he 1.

With the whole world celebrating Valentine's day .. roses, chocolates, dinners with the beloved, the i-youth at GMC Miri celebrated valentine with their FIRST LOVE..

Earlier in the morning, these two were seen to be up to something...

My... not a bad job..

we had pot bless( candle-lit style) ... a time of sharing our love and fellowship together.. (i would not give that up for the world).. XD

Then it our love songs to our First Love.. Oh..my fave..YOU ARE MY WORLD.. brought tears of joy and grateful ..

The best part of the whole evening (IMHO) were the sharing/testimonies from the Teng Bros. They shared how they came to know the Lord, and the sense of belonging to the i-Youth, they testified the goodness of the Lord. GOD IS GOOD!!!! was proclaimed many many times..Amen!!! GOD IS GOOD

The Lord is indeed good to all of us. These brothers are some of the living testimonies witnessed in the i-Youth which boldly proclaimed the love of God.

How wonderful it is to see the youth mature in their walk with the Lord.

Personally, this valentine was my BEST!!!

The radio... the tv... the commercials... the shopping malls... everywhere you go... blaring aloud VALENTINE'S DAY, VALENTINE'S DAY....

After reading the article on the History on Valentine's Day...I found the public (esp the $ making ones) are cashing in on our ignorance...

So sad, when the first and original valentine was in John 3:16. Yes, yes... you read right.

What has been originally meant for mankind was NOW DISTORTED to focus on self...

This morning's AiFM DJ was asking how would they celebrate this day and (IMHO)the replies were somewhat selfish... so self-centred.. "I won't go out lo.." ; "I would feel out cos everyone is in pairs" ... bla bla bla

I believe our youth will celebrate valentine's day differently..BECAUSE we know the true meaning of valentine's day.

Remembering what our Loving Father has done for us.. sending His one and only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross so that when we believe in Him, we shall not perish but have everlasting life.

And WHAT a life!!!!

We are surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who support and encourage us along the journey of our lives, doing things together and always together.

We are blessed with gifts and talents and we are using them for the glory of God through music, retreats/camps, outings or just simply spending time together.

We are blessed with wonderful parents who support us in our ministry and encourage us to serve God in the ministries He has prepared for us.

Tell you all a story from my past. When i was just a little girl, my dad would always bring me to the museum (ya.. I was from Kuching)and staring up at the huge stone stone, he would tell me a story. Once there was a young man who would always lie. One day, he was struck by lighting and fossilized. This huge stone serves as a reminder to the villagers that lying is not good. And I would always stare up the stone in awe.

Many many many years later, i went back to Kuching.. and the first thing i look for at the museum was that huge stone. By then Ez, Ay and Eli were with me and i wanna share the same folklore with them. Looking up and searching i could not locate the stone. My dad , with a smile on his gentle face told me to look down...

POWER OF THE POSITIVE!

It has been noted that the greatest achievements of mankind have been
accomplished by two types of people: those who were smart enough to know it
could be done and those too dumb to know it couldn't. It is amazing what
some CAN accomplish when others just leave them alone and let them try.
Someone else has stated, "There are three kinds of people in the world: the
wills, the won'ts, and the can'ts. The first accomplish everything; the
second oppose everything; the third fail in everything." [original source
unknown]

Into which of these groups might we feel we fall? It has long been
believed that the use of "positive affirmations" CAN powerfully motivate
toward success. However, some become so positive they can't do anything that
they become amazingly successful at failure! Certainly we each have
limitations, but often times we sell ourselves short of what CAN be
accomplished either by or through our lives that we simply don't put forth
the effort.

When I consider the life of Paul, I see one who was very successful in
the work of the Lord. For sure he had challenges and setbacks. There were
times his desired work in an area was hindered, even by Satan. (1
Thessalonians 2:18) However, in his reliance on the Lord and allowing God to
do His Work through Paul, he was powerfully motivated to press on in it. Was
there a "positive affirmation" associated with His life? Most definitely!
Can there be a more powerful "positive affirmation" than the one Paul made
in his letter to the church at Philippi?

We read. . .
"I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME." (Philippians
4:13 ESV)

I believe Paul's success in ministry was relative to the coupling
together of his "I CAN" attitude with the strength the Lord provided. It did
not all depend on Paul, but he still had to be willing to step forward in
faith and allow the Lord to use him -- and use him the Lord did! We are all
probably very familiar with those words of Paul. However, maybe it would be
a good regular exercise to recite them until we truly begin to believe them
for ourselves. If the work is what the Lord desires us to do IT CAN be done!

Do some of your friends—even Christian friends—have that not-so-great habit of saying "Oh my God!" in response to just about anything—good or bad? Like:

You: "We just broke up!"

Friend: "Oh my God! That's awful!"

You: "My parents just bought me a Mustang convertible!"

Friend: "Oh my God! What a cool car!"

If some of your friends (or even you) have a habit of using God's name like that, well, it's not a good thing. A lot of people would say it's breaking the third commandment: "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God" (Exodus 2:7, NIV). And they'd have a point. But it's not the only point behind Commandment No. 3. In fact, it may not even be the most important point. Want to know what the most important point is? More Than a Name

I couldn't keep from grinning as I took my seat. Friday had arrived. My favorite class with my favorite teacher was about to start. And just before class, I found out that I got a lead part in my school's fall musical. It was a great day … until I overheard my name. Andrew*, a classmate two rows behind me, was saying to someone: "That Jason Lawrenz is such a … " As my head turned, Andrew realized I could hear what he was saying and he quickly changed the topic, but the damage had been done. No, he hadn't said much more than my name, but the way he said it was offensive, angry and mean. It hurt a lot. I also worried that he'd done damage to my reputation—all because of the way he'd said my name.

Looking back at that experience, I think I caught a tiny glimpse of how God must feel when someone misuses his name. In fact, God is so concerned with how people use his name that he gave us the third commandment: "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name" (Exodus 20:7, NIV).

Obviously, God takes his name very seriously, and he doesn't want anyone misusing it. So, we should probably ask ourselves, "How do we misuse God's name?" To answer this question, we need to dive into a little history.

Centuries before Moses and the Ten Commandments, God chose Israel to be his messenger to the world. In ancient times, messengers were usually associated with royalty. Kings regularly used messengers to communicate with other nations. When a messenger delivered a message, he would first announce the name of the king who sent him. This official announcement was very important. Once he used the king's name, his message carried the authority and power of the king.

So, if the messenger delivered an inaccurate message, then he had "misused" the king's name because he said something with the king's authority that the king never told him to say. Additionally, the messenger's inaccuracy reflected poorly on the king and caused the king's name to lose some of its power and authority.

As God's messenger, Israel received the third commandment as a charge to use his name faithfully. This meant delivering the right message. God still uses messengers. He has chosen you and me to deliver his message to the world, and our message is the Gospel—the Good News that Jesus came to rescue us from our sins.

Let's bring this back to the commandment. The verse says that we shouldn't misuse God's name. Since we are God's messengers, misusing God's name means acting or speaking in ways that keep others from hearing the gospel message. This includes using God's name as an ugly swear word, but it also includes stuff like having pre-marital sex, drinking, gossiping behind someone's back, spreading lies, or treating others rudely. Doing this stuff doesn't align with the message of God's love, so it keeps our friends and classmates from hearing that message. And worst of all, misusing God's name like this will hurt him just like Andrew hurt me when he spoke my name so offensively.

Being commanded to consistently act and speak in ways that honor the gospel message is a huge challenge. After all, we all mess up. But there is a big encouragement for us: The Bible says that Christians are a "chosen people" (1 Peter 2:9, niv). God has chosen you and me to be his messengers, which means that he believes in us. He believes that we can be effective messengers.

So do you desire to be the King's messenger? If you do, then take a moment and ask God to help you. Ask him to give you the strength you need to honor his name with your words and actions. Then go into the world as a Christian and share the message of God's love. This is how you use his name in the right way. This is how you become a true messenger to a world that needs the true message.

CHINA EARTHQUAKE STRIPS
Hello. This is Coco Wang. As you know the breaking news of 5.12 Earthquake in China, almost all the TV channels in China are broadcasting 24 hours non-stop of every development and stories of all the rescue operations in all damaged locations.

I don't know how much information the BBC or any UK media received from us, I imagine the UK audiences were presented with the major developments of the incident, but you are probably unaware of many important and inside details which are only known to people inside China.

The amount of incredibly moving stories of victims, rescuers, and volunteers is simply shocking at the moment. I have been collecting newspapers of all the stories, and telling them in the form of comic strips. I hope these stories could show the UK readers the love, warmth and courage of the Chinese people, also the sad and cruel reality of the horrible 5.12 Earthquake.

I am back home in Beijing now. Thousands of heart-breaking stories are happening 24 hours non-stop everyday, some are so sad that you can hardly bear, some are incredibly moving that you just can't stop crying... I wanted to go to the front to help with all those people, some of my friends have already gone there, but I heard that the traffic needed to be kept totally clear for rescue transportation at the moment, people like me without knowledge of first-aid and experience of rescue operations going there now would cause choas and trouble... but I can't just sit at home and do nothing, I have been crying my eyes out in the past three days, I have never felt more proud of my country and people... their love, courage and kindness rock me to my core! I have decided to tell these touching stories by drawing comics. I am going to send you comic strips almost everyday from now on, I hope you could know something about the earthquake in China, although you don't have to do anything, but I hope you could feel our love and hope.

WHAT PERCENTAGE? (part 1 of 2)

Many of you students have either completed final exams for the end of
this school year or will be shortly. Such exams bring students face to face
with questions that help to gauge how much was learned through the year.
Perhaps there is no confidence in having gotten one hundred percent of THE
ANSWERS correct, but getting ninety-nine or ninety-eight or maybe even down
to eighty out of a hundred right, might not make one feel too bad. Those
going on to college may view such scores in light of their percentile rating
with other students, knowing that is considered with regard to admittance
and scholarship possibilities.
Reading through Job, I was struck by a statement he made that could be
looked at from the standpoint of reflecting a percentage of understanding in
a manner clearly marking a vast contrast between God and mankind. Though the
actual context seems to imply another focus (which we will consider Lord
Willing tomorrow) consider Job's statement in the context of knowledge.

Referring to God, Job stated. . .
"If one wished to contend with him, ONE COULD NOT ANSWER HIM ONCE IN
A THOUSAND TIMES." (Job 9:3 ESV)

For us that is a pretty low score. This is why we need to keep looking
to God for guidance. We don't have all THE ANSWERS, let alone the ability to
even sometimes ask the right questions. The reality of this contrast is also
noted by Paul when he referred to the foolishness of God being wiser than
man's wisdom. (1 Corinthians 1:25) When people begin to rely on their own
perceived lofty mindedness, they should remember what God revealed through
the prophet Isaiah where we read. . .

"For as the HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE my ways higher
than your ways and MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS."(Isaiah 55:9)

Recognizing how God is at the head of the class (outclassing humanity in
every respect) and at the top of the curve when it comes to knowing THE
ANSWERS, let us continually look to HIS ANSWERS to get us through life! It
is only with Him that we will be able to score high!

WHAT PERCENTAGE? (part 2 of 2)

Consider with me again the passage we noted yesterday, but this time in
what appears to be its primary context as we note its connection with the
previous verse. While Job was responding to statements made by his friend
Bildad, we read. . .

"(1) Then Job answered and said: (2) 'Truly I know that it is so:
But HOW CAN A MAN BE IN THE RIGHT BEFORE GOD? (3) If one wished to contend
with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.'" (Job 9:1-3
ESV)

The context of this passage in Job may actually be more reflective of
our not being able to JUSTIFY ourselves before God. As our life stands
before the righteousness of God, we fall far short of the image He created
us to possess. Not even one in a thousand times could we respond with enough
merit to JUSTIFY ourselves because -- as the prophet Isaiah acknowledged in
the presence of God -- "all our righteous deeds are like a polluted
garment." (Isaiah 64:6 ESV) [or "filthy rags" (KJV and NKJV)]

Later, after God had asked Job many questions and would even do so
further, Job responded. . .
"(4) Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I LAY
MY HAND ON MY MOUTH. (5) I have spoken once, and I WILL NOT ANSWER; twice,
but I WILL PROCEED NO FURTHER." (Job 40:4-5 ESV)

What response could Job give? Is there any defense we could open our
mouth to offer on our own behalf? In light of the reality of needing a
remedy beyond ourselves for our short comings, let us praise God for the
JUSTIFICATION we can receive IN CHRIST (1 Corinthians 6:11) even after we
have fallen far short of where He wants us. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) May we be
careful we don't begin to think we can balance it all out ourselves. We are
in need of the righteousness that comes from God (Philippians 3:9) and can
become ours because of Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30) as He speaks to the
Father on our behalf. (1 John 2:1) May our life reflect a sincere
appreciation for the answer Jesus is to providing our JUSTIFICATION before
the Father.

We will be doing a soft-opening on this sat nite. Pray hard that all the ppl who the Lord has touched will come. Pray for their protection. Pray for yourselves that you will be diligent in the Lord's work too.

MAD AT THE DOG AND KICK THE CAT?

God can do amazing things and seeing that coupled with the trust of
others is a beautiful picture. However, often the most consistent thing
about humanity is our inconsistency. Then to top it off, anger sets in and
that anger does not rest where it ought! Let us consider an example during
the time of the divided kingdom.

Asa was a pretty good king who reigned over Judah. During his reign
he -- with his army of 300,000 from Judah and 280,000 from Benjamin -- was
faced with an Ethiopian army of a million men and 300 chariots. (2
Chronicles 14:8-9) With such odds against him, Asa turned to the Lord and
the Lord brought a defeat against the enemy that left none remaining. (2
Chronicles 14:11-13) This was followed by religious reforms in Jerusalem. (2
Chronicles 15) However, during the last years of Asa's reign he negotiated
with the king of Syria in order that the kingdom of Israel would withdraw
from him. (2 Chronicles 16:1-6) God then sent word to Asa by way of Hanani
the seer to rebuke him for having relied upon the army of the king of Syria
rather than on God as he had done when faced with the huge armies of the
Ethiopians and the Libyans. (2 Chronicles 16:7-8)

In that rebuke God's message stated. . .
"(9) 'For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole
earth, TO GIVE STRONG SUPPORT TO THOSE WHOSE HEART IS BLAMELESS TOWARD HIM.
YOU HAVE DONE FOOLISHLY IN THIS, for from now on you will have wars.'" (2
Chronicles 16:9 ESV)

Earlier Asa had been one of those found by God seeking Him with a
blameless heart, received "strong support", and gained a great victory. What
happened to that reliance on God? Why would he later turn to another kingdom
for help?

So, what was Asa's response? Who had committed the blunder? Who had
directed the reliance the wrong direction? Who should have remembered the
source of deliverance in the past? With whom should Asa have been upset? Is
not "Asa" the correct answer to those questions?

However, as we read on we find . . .
"(10) Then ASA WAS ANGRY WITH THE SEER and put him in the stocks in
prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. AND ASA INFLICTED
CRUELTIES UPON SOME OF THE PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME." (2 Chronicles 16:10
ESV)

Asa didn't like the message so he got angry with the messenger! He also
appears to have taken his anger out on others as well through the manner in
which he treated them. Unfortunately, in all the centuries that have passed
since the days of Asa, that tendency among humanity has not changed. Someone
is mad at the dog and they kick the cat. They are angry because of wrong
they have done, vent that anger on whoever unfortunately comes their way,
and the acceptance of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY goes by the wayside.

James exhorted. . .
"(19) Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be QUICK TO
HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK, SLOW TO ANGER; (20) for THE ANGER OF MAN DOES NOT
PRODUCE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD." (James 1:19-20 ESV)

Through the acceptance of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for our actions we
have the opportunity to grow. Let us not be guilty of mistreating others
because we are upset with ourselves. May we instead be thankful for the
clarity that has come to us regarding the things that still need to change
in our lives so that we can be of those for whom God seeks "WHOSE HEART IS
BLAMELESS TOWARD HIM." Instead of foolish actions like Asa, such will mark a
life guided by godly wisdom.

Brothers, I thank the Lord everytime i see you two working so hard with the youth, training them fervently in the music ministry. I thank the Lord that He has put in your hearts to love them, care for them and most of all to nurture them. I have really seen you mature in your walk with the Lord and the fruits are evident in your lives.

I praise the Lord for your dad and mom too... for their love and devotion to the Lord, their zeal and their fire for Him, for the many many lives they have touched. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out
of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his
breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of
the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My
taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car
and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me
what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around
full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of
disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it
and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just
smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and
spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage
trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning
with regrets, so..... 'Love the people who treat you right. Pray for
the ones who don't.'

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how
you take it!

Disappointed...

Yes, i was rather disappointed ... 2 reasons:-

1.by the response i received from the Amazing Race participants. It was announced on 5th April and reminded again on youth sunday, and also last saturday and sunday. Too bad we could not even get 4 teams of 8 members.. so I had no choice but to call off the race.

2.It amazed me why nobody even bother to call or confirm their participation...I guessed they just assumed that since they are part of the i-youth fellowship so automatically by default, they are in?? Boy oh boy... try that with your registration for SPM or PMR ..if you do not register yourself.. see whether you automatically qualify for the exam... OOoohhh... what attitude!!

Wake up people!!! WHAT DO YOU GET FROM A PAMPERED COW? SPOILT MILK!!!

It was after much prayers and selection that we have finally decided on the committee members of the i-Youth fellowship for the year 2008. The selection was done by the advisors and after Form 5 youths.

This year, our youth leaders are all young young de. Our Rev Law and the advisors have agreed to guide them and teach them.

First committee meeting will be on 26th January, 2008. 6.30pm in Rev's office. Committee members, be there punctually.

My worst nightmare¡

Don't think that i am immune to everything... everytime I see this creature i have a very violent reaction... i want to kill it immediately.. I have 3 close encounters.. argh...

INCIDENT 1: They crawled across my face while i was sleeping, and i just brushed them aside as i thought they were Cockroaches ... 3 times¡¡ argh¡ MOMMY!!!

INCIDENT 2: One week later.. in my workplace..in the ladies room..after using the toilet..before flushing i just happened to glanced into the bowl...ARRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! There was a big one...just inches of crawling out... imagine if i were to sit on the bowl just a little longer.... (i can't imagine) .............................. =.=

INCIDENT 3: FEW DAYS later.. a big black 8" came into the dining room. After the first two incidents, i've decided to confront them ..took a broom stick and tried to smash the head.. but it managed to elude the stick and crawled up the stick at an incredible speed..... MOMMY¡¡¡ AAaaarrrgggghhhhhh!!!

and now they are being EATEN..a delicacy...YUCKS!!!! Maybe one day..when i have the courage.. and to confront my fear... i might just EAT them too... *shudder

A few weeks ago, in a cinema, a person felt something poking from her seat. When she got up to see what it was, she found a needle sticking out of the seat with a note attached saying "You have just been infected by HIV (AIDS)".

The Disease Control Center (in Paris ) reports many similar events in many other cities recently. All tested needles were HIV Positive. The Center also reports that needles have been found in cash dispensers (ATM) at public banking machines. We ask everyone to use extreme caution when faced with this kind of situation. All public chairs/seats should be inspected with vigilance and caution before use. A careful visual inspection should be enough. In addition, they ask that each of you pass this message along to all members of your family and your friends of the potential danger.

Recently, one doctor has narrated a somewhat similar instance that happened to one of his patients at the Praia Cinema in Delhi . A young girl engaged and about to be married in a couple of months, was pricked while the movie was going on. The tag with the needle had the message : "Welcome to the World of HIV family". Though the doctors told her family that it takes about 6 months before the virus grows strong enough to start damaging the system and a healthy victim could survive about 5-6 years, the girl died in 4 months, perhaps more because of the "Shock thought". We all have to be careful at public places, rest God help! Just think about saving a life by forwarding this message. Please, take a few seconds of your time to pass along.

Yupe, you heard me right... maybe i need to clarify a bit here. This dialogue provides an opportunity for the parents and their children to understand each other better.

Often than not, there is this GENERATION GAP and COMMUNICATION BARRIER.

On your part, maybe you would like to think of situation or circumstances that you do not understand why your parents behave the way they behave.

It it our hope that with dialogue like this, the relationship will be knitted closer because here(dialogue) your voices will be heard.

Saturday night, we did a teaching(15 minutes) on a character quality "creativity" and then each one has to present their "show & tell" . Hey guys and ladies, i believed all your ideas are ORIGINAL... YEAH.. and these three are awarded for the BEST ORIGINAL IDEA..

This is an eraser and you use it to eraser mistakes. Jesus is like an eraser too, He can erase the mistakes in your lives, He can remove the sins in your lives.

Q. My girlfriend and I have been dating for a couple of months. She isn't a Christian, and she's not entirely sure what she believes. I've shared some of my beliefs with her, but I don't think I've ever shared the whole story from start to finish. How can I effectively share Christ with her without seeming too pushy?

A. I'm glad to hear you're not only talking about your faith with this girl but that you're being sensitive about it as well. I think one of the biggest mistakes we Christians make is to tell other people about Jesus without listening to their questions, their doubts or their ideas. That's certainly not what Jesus did, and it's not what we're supposed to do.

So don't stop sharing your faith with your girlfriend. Do share your beliefs about Jesus and how he wants us to live. At the same time, show her what it looks like to live as a Christian. Be kind, be forgiving, be compassionate. Live with honesty and moral integrity. Serve others. When she has questions, answer them as best you can but don't argue with her or try to prove why she's wrong and you're right. Listen. Pray. Care. That's how you share Christ.

Now for the part you might not like: I think you need to stop dating your girlfriend. The issue isn't that dating her will hurt your faith—although it could. Rather, I think it's going to hurt hers. You see, as she learns more about Jesus, as she watches you live out your faith, she might very well want to become a Christian. But it may be difficult for her to separate her feelings about faith from her feelings about you. Her interest in these conversations might be genuine, but it might also be tangled up in her interest in you. If you want to be a true friend to her and offer a genuine witness to the selfless love of Jesus, then put her needs first. You can, of course, stay friends—even good friends—and keep the door open for dating in the future. But for now, the conversations you are having need to be between friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend.

STML-SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS

Have anyone of you experienced STML before? Well,i had on 29th May 2007( a class of 11 students can testify to that) and it kinda lasted till 11th June morning... will tell you all about it ~~in my next post~~here.

On that unfortunate day, i went to class all prepared to teach. Everything went well when all of a sudden in the middle of solving a case study, i just COULD NOT remember how to continue. ALL OF A SUDDEN my mind was blank!! I tried to recall and i COULD NOT even recall the principles and stuff relating to that topic. (Abel, I can understand what a totally white room devoid of any color would look like...I've been there. Haha!)

Oh... it was so frustrating. I told the class i could not remember (don't know how they see me then) and asked them to explain to me. I COULD NOT EVEN RELATE their explanations and reasoning to the question. GAH!! I tried to calm down... still could not fathom the connection. MY MIND WAS DEVOID, EMPTY, WHITE... yeah... literally WHITE. I thought it was a sign of stress and wrote off the whole incident as such.

(after our P5&6 retreat), On Monday morning 11/6, as i reached out to grab hold of my toothbrush... *SCREAM* I COULD NOT remember which one was mine, COULD NOT even recalled the color. I just stood there for like an eternity and STARED at those toothbrushes in front of me...which one is mine? WHICH ONE IS MINE?? *SCREAM*

SCARY...signs of Alzheimer?? NOOOOoooooooooooooooooo

Then the white room exploded into a brilliance of white blinding light.. and then i COULD 'SEE' again... everything is in it own place with its own color. Everything in its order. HALLELUJAH, PRAISE THE LORD!!

That's one thing i would not wanna lose. MY MIND!!!
